Shout Hooray! A One Layer Card with My Favorite Things

Today I wanted to play along with the My Favorite Things race for the gold olympic card challenge. I've never been super into olympic sports, but I do like to sit down and watch, especially when its at night prime time like this year. Snowboarding is probably my favorite, just because Shaun White ;)

So the first olympic challenge over at MFT was to create a card with 3 different MFT Stamp Sets. I needed a birthday card for my cousin so I started with the Party Balloons" set and then a bold sentiment from the discontinued "Celebrate You" set, and finally my little charecters from the "Four Legged Friends" set.

How I Did It

To put it all together I started by setting up my stamps in the layout I wanted, and remove the balloons and sentiment to stamp later, and stamped my doggies and balloon strings in black ink. I know I wanted to do some ink blending, so I wanted to get them out of the way and masked off. Next I stamped the three balloons starting with the one in the center, which I masked prior to stamping the two outer balloons. I masked off the remaining two balloons before using clarity brushes to do some light ink blending around the edges of my card. I wanted a little more 'party' on my card, so I look some gold alcohol ink mixative onto a brush and flicked it around. Then I decided just to go all out and flicked on a few more colors of alcohol ink. There was no rhyme of reason to the alcohol ink choice, it was just sitting in front of me. To finish, I stamped my sentiment several times using my MISTI and some thick VersaFine Ink to get a nice rich black over top all the other fun, and lastly colored in my images with copic marker. I mounted the whole thing onto some gold foil card stock and to an a2 sized card base.

Valentines Treat Bags w/ the WRMK Gift Bag Punch Board

Hi Friends, Happy late Valentine's Day. I wanted to share some treat boxes I made to give little treats out to my friends and family. I found these little mini flower growing kits at the dollar spot and target and got some to pass out for Valentines.

To make my little baggies I used the WRMK Gift Bag Punch Board and a 6x12inch starting piece for a "Large" sized gift bag. Following the instructions on the board, I punched/scored until the bag base was complete. Before gluing it all together, I adhered onto the front and the back a piece of patterned paper to add some interest, and then decorated the front with additional elements.

I used pattern paper I had from Pebble's Basics line and created some grass with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border and Stitched Hillside dies. I colored and cut out some little doggies from the My Favorite Things Four Legged Friends stamp set, and added them to my grassy area along with a sentiment from the same set, stamped and heat embossed onto the same. To finish it off I added some hearts I always have on hand, cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts die, which I coated with some Wink of Stella Shimmer and a generous helping of Ranger Glossy Accents.

While I was at it I also created a gift box, just so everything wouldn't be so matchy matchy.
For this I used the WRMK 123 Punch Board and just made a very basic box with some heart dies and a hand written sentiment (I was running out of time before my friend date to see 50 shades of grey) 😂

As always you can find supplies linked below, as well as all my social media links, I'd love you to give me a little follow.

Until next time...

Simple Watercolor Valentines Card for Friends

Happy Superbowl Sunday! I'm taking a break from preppin the snacks to get this card posted. I made a few of these using some Simon Says Stamp sets and a simple watercolor background.

Onto dry watercolor papers, I made some free hand swipes using 3 different shades of peerless watercolors. I was careful not to use too much water so that the color would stay semi-controlled. You can't tell from the photo, but I then went over each stripe with a wash of perfect pearl powder and water. After everything was completely dry, I stamped 3 repeating hearts from the Simon Says Stamp Roses for You set and finished with a sentiment from their Handwritten Love set, which I heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

So how are you spending your Superbowl Sunday? Are you a Pats fan or rooting for the Eagles?
